This Privacy Policy explains how D2M ("D2M," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the D2M application on supported Android devices. On certain Freestream-branded smartphones, the app may operate as a pre-installed system app; on other Android devices, it functions as a standard downloadable app with the same core broadcast features.
You do not need to create an account or log in to use D2M. The core broadcast tuning, streaming, and emergency alert features are available without account registration.
During onboarding or in the Profile section, you may choose to provide the following optional information:
This information is optional and is not required to use the core features of the app.
Depending on how you use the app and which permissions you grant, D2M may collect or process the following categories of information:
If you grant location permission, we may collect approximate or precise location information for internal statistics and app usage analysis. We do not use location information for advertising. We do not use location information for any purpose other than the feature or analysis described in this Policy.
The app may collect or process device and network state information needed for app functionality, such as connectivity status and tuner connection status.
The app may access device app storage to read, write, or cache broadcast-related content locally, including media segments and Electronic Service Guide (ESG) data needed for playback and service operation.
The app may use notification-related permissions and settings to deliver emergency alerts and related service notifications. Where supported by the device, the app may also guide you to enable optional system settings, such as notification policy access or alert-display permissions, so emergency alerts can be delivered appropriately. These settings are enabled only if you choose to grant them.
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to help detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and app stability issues. Crash reports may include technical information such as app version, device model, operating system version, timestamps, crash stack traces, and related diagnostic data associated with a crash event.
The app uses WebView components in limited cases to render broadcast-related BA service content provided through an internal library and to display certain locally downloaded NRT content, such as images, GIFs, and videos. In these cases, WebView is used as a rendering component within the app and is not intended as a general-purpose web browser.
Information processed by the app may be used to:
Optional profile information entered in the app is used for internal statistics and product-related analysis. This information is not required to access the core app functionality.
Profile information is not used to create a login-based user account. If you update profile information in the app, the updated information may be stored according to the app's implementation at that time.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in the following situations:
Optional profile information is not shared for advertising purposes.
D2M does not currently use AdMob or other mobile advertising SDKs. If advertising features are added in a future release, this Privacy Policy and any required store disclosures will be updated before those features are made available to users.
Optional profile information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law or for legitimate operational needs.
Broadcast media cache, ESG data, and other locally stored app data may remain on your device until removed by the app, overwritten, cleared through device settings, or deleted when you uninstall the app.
Crash-related diagnostic data handled through Firebase Crashlytics is retained in accordance with Firebase's service practices and configuration.
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to help protect information processed by the app. These measures may include access controls, secure communication methods, and other safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
You may choose whether to provide optional profile information.
You may also control certain app permissions and device settings, including location, notifications, and related system permissions, through your Android device settings.
You can remove locally stored app data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app, subject to how Android manages app data on your device.
D2M is not directed to individuals under the age of 18 and is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18.
If you believe such information has been provided through the app, please contact us so appropriate action can be taken.
Depending on the services used to operate the app, some information may be processed on servers located outside your country or region. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used in accordance with applicable law.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If changes are made, the updated version will be posted with a revised "Last Updated" date.
